What's an Arts week without the infamous 9th art of comics?
As part of Canberra Living Artists Week (CLAW) Impact Comics in Garema Place will be hosting Capital Comickers - an exhibition of original comic book pages by Canberra's own Ben "You Stink" Hutchings and Jon "Gemini" Sommariva.
This a rare opportunity to see pages of comic book art as the artists have drawn them, before they have been scanned, shrunk down and coloured for printing.
There will also be some art from other surprise Australian artists!
The exhibition opens on Friday 22nd of August at 9am and runs every day until Sunday 31st.
There will be an opportunity to meet the featured artists on Thursday 28th of August at 6:30pm so get in and join the fun and kick on to the official CLAW event at King O'Malley's Pubat 7pm. |

Movie opens Thursday 28th of June
As if the animated movie of the 80's wasn't enough, Michael Bay and a team of top notch special effects creators plus the requesite squishy human actors are bringing all the Transformers action to the big screen.
Don't worry, Peter Cullen is still doing the voice of Optimus Prime!
Impact Comics is gearing up for this and is the only place you need for your Transformers fix this year.
As you probably know by now, we here at Impact have a lot of appreciation for giant alien robots that change into things, come into the shop and check out our display of vintage Transformers, The Transformers Museum!
Here's just a tease of what Transformers goodies we have in stock or coming soon. Drop in or contact us if you have any special requests.
