CAB: Collaborative Auto-Biography CAB: Collaborative Auto-Biography is a 72page graphic novel collection of short autobiographical comics drawn from the experiences of a dozen young residents and visitors to the suburban South-Western Sydney communities of Cabramatta and Canley Vale. The collection tours Sydney’s suburbia guided by the autobiographical experiences of its residents and visitors instead of landmarks or attractions. CAB: Collaborative Auto-Biography aims to revalue the mundane environments we unassumingly pass every day by showcasing the personal memories, minor miracles and true tragedies hidden in its cracks and corners. The graphic novel demystifies the artistic process by engaging a variety of ordinary individuals to transform their everyday experiences into a visual/literary expression. CAB: Collaborative Auto-Biography was launched in April 2007 and accompanied with a week-long exhibition showcasing the graphic novel’s entire body of original artwork. It has since been showcased in forums hosted by Sydney Writer’s Festival and the Department of Family, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
