Barry Allen/The Flash holds a special place in superhero comic book history. In 1956 Editor Julius Schwartz wanted to reinvent the superhero genre with a major science fiction influence. He went to writer’s John Broome and Robert Kanigher and artists Carmine Infantino and Joe Kubert to redesign, recast and revive THE FLASH.

Thus began the era we now know as THE SILVER AGE of comics.Showcase 4 fc

Over the years the story has had several tweaks… The guy can run through time and dimensions, some mix ups are sure to happen!

The TV show has done well to lift some of the best bits from the last half decade of comics and turn it into a fun action filled drama.
If you are a fan of the original comics there are some great character, event and place references.

If you were a fan of the old Flash TV show, there are even a few familiar faces for you too!

After being struck by lightning, CSI investigator Barry Allen awakens from a nine-month coma to discover he has been granted the gift of super speed.  Teaming up with S.T.A.R. Labs, Barry takes on the persona of The Flash, the Fastest Man Alive, to protect his city. Starring Grant Gustin (Glee, Arrow), Candice Patton (The Game), Rick Cosnett (The Vampire Diaries), Danielle Panabaker (Justified, Necessary Roughness) and Carlos Valdes (Once) with Tom Cavanagh (Ed, Eli Stone, The Following) and Jesse L.
