Comics to read before you see Star Wars The Last Jedi

For 40 years the Star Wars universe has been spilling out from cinemas into comic books, greatly expanding the galaxy far far away.
While you wait in line this week to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi, you can pass the time with a comic, here’s our recommendations…

Journey to Star Wars The Last Jedi –

CAPTAIN PHASMA

Captain Phasma was one of those characters everyone was hanging out for in Star Wars The Force Awakens. A badass female commander played by Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie in seriously OTT chrome armour. Honestly, what’s not to like?

Probably the the last time we see here she’s about to be fed to a trash compactor…
But! Star Wars comics don’t tend to like letting a cool character die down a hole.
There was a comic that told the story of Boba Fett surviving the sarlacc pit, and Darth Maul’s return was first covered in comics too!

As the trailers to The Last Jedi show, Phasma’s back! So where was she? How did she survive? How ticked off is she going to be? This is the comic to answer all of those questions!

Vader Down

While we are looking at comics stories that deal with villains that seem defeated at the end of a film…
Do you remember at the end of A New Hope, when Darth Vader was blasted off into space following the demise of the Death Star?
What would happen if he found himself face to face with a fleet of rebels on a bit of clean up?

Yep.
Before they filmed that scene in Rogue One, Vader Down showe the one man wrecking crew in action.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The comic adaptation

There’s nothing cooler than a straight up comic adaptation of your favourite movie.
And, honestly, Rogue One is very likely to be one your favourites, isn’t it?

But this one doesn’t stop there. Just like all good comics, it adds to the story!
Wanna know that mysterious tale of how Cassian met/captured/repurposed K-2SO? It’s in here!

There are HEAPS more Star Wars comics stories available, drop in or hit us up for a suggestion…

Or grab an action figure… or a Pop figure… or a coffee mug… or a poster… or a little golden book… or a coffee table book. We’ve got them all!
